Weather through the day
Hourly conditions are weather model estimates. Later forecast days are less certain, and missing fields are labeled. meteoblue is an external comparison; this app does not reproduce its forecast data.
Live source status
ConnectingRetrieval time means when this app received a source response, not a new model run. Providers update at different intervals. Older observations and failed refreshes are labeled.

Low-lying areas prone to flooding
Loading terrain evidence…
Orange and red in the SWALIM susceptibility layer indicate higher potential for flooding. Elevation alone does not establish flood risk; river levels, drainage and exposure also matter. These terrain colours are separate from dated observations of flood water.

Satellite-detected flood water
Satellite classifications show water detected at observation time. They may miss flooding or misclassify water; water can since have moved or receded. Unobserved pixels and transparent areas do not confirm safety. These layers do not measure affected population.
Flood susceptibility is a static terrain-based screening layer. Historical flood-prone areas are separate evidence. Neither shows current inundation or predicted flood depth. Click any map point for its elevation and a SWALIM layer query.

River outlook / GloFAS
Model grid ≈5 km. The selected river cell may differ from the local channel. Zero modeled discharge does not establish that a city is flood-free. River dates use UTC.

Copernicus API observations / radar & optical
The public catalogue API returns satellite acquisitions. Dated flood classifications come from the separate Copernicus CEMS radar service on the map. Scene-wide cloud cover does not measure cloud directly over this city. Custom processed Sentinel-2 imagery requires Copernicus OAuth credentials on the server.

Country-level flood events returned for the last 30 days. Model-generated alerts are labeled by source; they are not confirmed city impacts. No-event results do not mean no flooding.

Know what the data can tell you.
Rainfall screening: lower <10 mm/day; watch 10–24.9 mm/day; elevated ≥25 mm/day. These app-defined thresholds are not calibrated flood probabilities. Local drainage, upstream rain, river levels and exposure determine actual flooding. Missing data are never treated as zero.
Copernicus Sentinel-2 true-colour imagery supports visual inspection; clouds can obscure water. The supplied true-colour view covers 12 October 2026 and is a dated reference. Its cloudCoverage=100 setting permits cloudy scenes; it does not measure local cloud cover. Sentinel-2 Browser imagery is not an alert feed. Copernicus CEMS Global Flood Monitoring supplies the separate radar flood classification shown on the map. No affected population or inundated area is estimated without evidence.
